Today is also the 11th anniversary since I signed on the line and raised my hand and swore to defend the nation against all enemies foreign and domestic. At the time I had no idea what the significance of the date was, and when the Master Sergeant handed me a slice of cake, I thought the whole army was going to be pretty cool. Sign up, free cake! What a deal!
