Well much to my surprise, the Chargers did it.  Amazing.  A fun game to watch, probably less so for Colts fans.  Actually, I am a big fan of both the Manning boys (with his hair growing out, Peyton looks more like Eli than ever).  But tonight Peyton's magic just wasn't there.  If you are gonna whine about the "free" first downs the Chargers got on their overtime drive...there was no controversy, the Colts did those crimes and had to pay for it.  So you could blame the Colts for giving away the game...and that would be accurate, in my estimation.  We'll find out tomorrow where the Bolts are heading for next week.  I ain't for sure that they can beat either team but I guess we'll see about that.  I do love football.

I have no real reason to prefer one team over the other although I do think Peyton is the best QB in football and that's from a NE fan.

As far as the game it was very entertaining and I agree that there was no real controversy about the penalties in overtime. It is regretable when there are so many of them but I didn't see anything particularly egregious. However what really won it for the Chargers was winning the coin flip.

I mentioned this elsewhere and it looks to me that Rivers is going to be a good one for quite some time. If LT can stay healthy then I think that puts the Chargers in good position for a number of years. But as you said it's doubtful that next weeks game will be a pleasant one for Chargers fans regardless of which team they play, although having no particular love for either the Titans or the Steelers, I'll probably be rooting for the Chargers as the underdog.

It shouldn't come as surprise that the Chargers won. Despite their 9 game winning streak I felt the Colts weren't the Colts of the past few years. No running game and Marvin Harrison is a shadow of what he once was. Peyton Manning's extraordinary play made the Colts this year.

The Chargers on paper are one of the most talented teams in the NFL. They have rarely played up to their talent this year. Remember when the season started they were one of the favorites in Vegas to win it all.

As for those penalties on the winning drive all i can say is a penalty is a penalty. The same penalty called in the first quarter needs to be called in overtime. Plus those were obvious penalties.

Now I hope the Chargers lose next week.

Well, I guess it will be Chargers vs Steelers next week and that is an old fashioned AFL match up.  The Chargers seem to have found some real grit these last few games and I don't think the Steelers are at their peak...that said, I still have my doubts that the Chargers can run the table.  I am looking forward to the games next week, though, looks like some good'uns on the way.

Eh, no.  The Steelers are one of the NFL teams moved over after the merger.

The win may have saved Norv Turner's job.  (Or he may get the ax next week).  But that should not be a reason for celebrating for Charger fans.  He took a 14-2 team to 8-8.  Hardly an accomplishment.

Busted!  I should have said AFC match-up.  As for Turner, in my previous article about Mike leaving Denver, I included Turner in the list of disgruntled former Raider coaches who could move into Mike's spot...I, too, am assuming that Norv will be leaving soon.

Well, they are definitely a hot team right now, and in a season with no great teams who knows? But still come on, Steelers!!!!

Yes but.... (dont you hate those?)

The chargers were not the first NFL team to lose to the AFL. Hehehehehe (evil laugh there).

Looks like LaDainian Tomlinson is out for Sunday's game. Now being a Steelers fan you would think I would be happy but I'm not. Believe it or not, Sproles scares me more than LT.

As it should be, look what he did to Indy!
